Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be greeted by a Buffalo Grass Safaris representative and transferred to your elegant hotel in Arusha. Nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha is a vibrant city that serves as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Settle in, enjoy the hotel amenities, and prepare for your journey into the wild.

After breakfast, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees, rolling hills, and high concentrations of wildlife, particularly during the dry season. Large herds of elephants often gather around the Tarangire River, while lions, leopards, giraffes, and over 500 bird species add to the park’s richness. Enjoy game drives with a hot picnic or lodge lunch and continue your exploration into the golden afternoon light.

Today, head to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet ecologically diverse park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Look out for its famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, troops of baboons, and the flamingos that gather seasonally along the lake’s edge. The park’s unique landscapes—from dense groundwater forest to open grassy floodplains—make it a photographer’s paradise. After a full day of exploration, continue to your luxurious lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

AAfter breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. En route, enjoy a fascinating Maasai cultural experience, and opt to visit the Olduvai Gorge, a significant paleoanthropological site where some of the earliest human remains were discovered.

As you enter the Serengeti, the scenery opens into vast golden plains, dotted with wildlife. Enjoy a game drive as you make your way to your luxury lodge inside the park.

Rise early for a sunrise game drive, or choose the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti (optional, pre-booking required). Today, enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, with lunch at the lodge or a hot packed lunch in the bush. The Serengeti’s iconic savannahs are home to all the Big Five, as well as large herds of herbivores and prowling predators. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration—a true natural spectacle.

After breakfast, drive back toward Ngorongoro Crater for a day of game viewing inside the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Descend into this lush wildlife sanctuary—often called “Africa’s Garden of Eden”—and search for endangered black rhinos, large lion prides, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, hippos, and more. After an exhilarating day, ascend the crater rim and continue to your luxury lodge in Karatu.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or onward journey. If you’re extending your trip to Zanzibar or another part of Tanzania, we’ll assist in arranging all logistics.
